Whisky, vermouth and bitters form the base of this simple but sophisticated cocktail. Served in a martini glass and garnished with a green olive and lemon zest, it's the ultimate elegant party drink.

Ingredients

  • 50ml whisky
  • 25ml dry vermouth
  • a few dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • pitted green olive
  • twist of lemon zest

Method

  1. Pour the whisky, dry vermouth and a few dashes of Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker with a few ice cubes. Close the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 1 min.
  2. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  3. Thread a pitted green olive onto a cocktail stick and place into the glass.
  4. Garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
