Breakfast crumbles

Start the day with an easy breakfast 'crumble' for a comforting way to eat your granola as the weather gets colder. Juicy blackberries and apples are topped with a simple granola topping (use shop-bought or try our homemade recipe beloq) for a sweet breakfast that is still healthy, perfect for the weekend.

Ingredients

  • 150g blackberries
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 lemon, zested
  • butter, for greasing
  • 100g granola

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to gas 4, 180’C, fan 160’C. Mix together the blackberries, apples and lemon zest.
  2. Grease 4x150ml ramekins with butter and divide the fruit between them. Top with the granola. Bake for 35 mins, until golden and crisp.
  • Tip: You can use any granola or muesli for this recipe - granola will give a crunchy, crumbly texture (break up any big clumps before mixing together), while muesli will be more soft and chewy. Or you could try making your own homemade granola – we've used this simple Berry granola recipe.
