Clubcard - terms and conditions
The Clubcard terms and conditions are listed below. If you have any questions, please contact us.
If you need help understanding any part of this website, please view our Help & FAQs section or contact us.
Clubcard scheme cards include Tesco Customer Clubcard (including Clubcard key fob), Clubcard Plus, Tesco Bank Cards (including Tesco Credit Cards and Tesco Clubcard Pay+ cards) and Colleague Clubcard. Also, relevant Tesco apps include the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app and any Tesco Clubcard within mobile wallets.
Collecting Clubcard points
- Clubcard members must present their Clubcard (either a physical Clubcard or contained within the Tesco app) at the checkout in order to collect points for a transaction in-store. Members who forget to scan their Clubcard in-store may return with their Clubcard and a valid receipt within 14 days to get their missed points manually added and missed Clubcard Prices discount refunded, providing the receipt belongs to the corresponding Clubcard member. Missed Clubcard points and Clubcard Prices refunds may only be claimed for up to 2 receipts per day. Missed Clubcard Prices refunds are only valid for purchases made in UK stores.
- Clubcard members will be required to present their Clubcard or enter their Clubcard number to collect points on purchases made through any transactions out of Tesco stores or tesco.com or Tesco Marketplace
- Points collected from Tesco Bank will be credited to the Clubcard member's account separately to points collected elsewhere.
- Clubcard points collected on additional Clubcard(s) linked to the main Clubcard member's account will be credited to that account.
- To be awarded Clubcard points, members must spend above a certain amount on qualifying products in a single transaction. The number of points awarded may change and will vary depending on the products bought, the amount spent and where the transaction takes place. Full details of how points are awarded can be found in the Collect points section of our website.
- Clubcard points can also be collected with our Clubcard Points Partners, but further terms and conditions may apply. Points Partners are selected brands you can collect Clubcard points with, you can find more information in the Collect points section of our website.
- Points will not be awarded for non-qualifying products, including Esso sites without a Tesco Express shop, carrier bags charges, tobacco or tobacco related products, lottery, stamps, prescription medicines, infant formulae milk, Tesco gift cards, 3rd party gift cards, saving stamps, Tesco Clubcard Plus subscription payment, selected in-store concessions, PayPoint payments or purchases of some Tesco Bank products, bureau de change, Tesco Outlet eBay shop, and alcohol purchases in Northern Ireland. Points will not be awarded for transactions made with a Republic of Ireland Clubcard. Other products may also be excluded from the scheme at the discretion of Tesco.
- Clubcard members can collect a maximum of 30,000 points in any one collection period. From time to time, we may run promotions offering more than 30,000 Clubcard points which will result in your points balance exceeding the maximum points amount. On such occasions, you will be unable to request vouchers instantly and all of your vouchers will be delivered in your next Clubcard statement. We recommend receiving your statement by email rather than by post, to avoid your Clubcard vouchers getting lost in the post.
- Tesco may set a maximum number of points that can be awarded for promotional items where additional points are available. Individual promotions may have different limits as communicated in their purchase conditions. Any participation in promotional offers above and beyond what could objectively be considered consumer behaviour or personal use may be considered as abuse of the scheme.
- Tesco is entitled to remove Clubcard points from member’s accounts at any time, if products are returned for any reason and a full or partial refund of the purchase price is given. This also applies to the exchange of products, unless the exchange is for products with an equivalent points value.
- Clubcard points awarded at the time of the transaction or vouchers already issued may be removed or cancelled if Tesco determines that the points were collected in breach of these terms and conditions or were awarded in error. For the avoidance of doubt, any advice or actions of our staff that is contrary to these terms and conditions will not have the effect of changing these terms and conditions.
- Points have no value until converted into vouchers. Points are converted into vouchers every quarter and issued with a Clubcard statement. Points can also be turned into vouchers in the Tesco app or online. The current conversion value of points is 1 point is equal to 1 penny.
- Tesco is under no obligation to award Clubcard points for any reason outside of qualifying transactions.
The Tesco Clubcard scheme
- These terms and conditions are applicable across the entire Tesco Clubcard scheme and any participation is considered as acceptance. Additional terms and conditions may be in place for optional elements of the scheme. Examples of which include, but are not limited to: Clubcard Christmas Savers, Clubcard Plus, Clubcard Points Partners, Tesco Marketplace and Reward Partners. Clubcard members participating in the optional elements of the scheme will be considered as having accepted the additional terms and conditions.
- The Clubcard account, Clubcard, coupons, vouchers, and points, in whatever form, are issued by and remain the property of Tesco. Tesco may, at any time, terminate, alter, or amend the conditions or operation of the scheme.
- The scheme is UK only. All members of the scheme must have a valid UK address and be aged 18 years or over.

We will delete accounts that haven't accrued any points for 2 years and carried-forward points from a previous statement will expire after 2 years, if the account has not been used within this period. Clubcard accounts that aren’t used for 2 years and accounts with out-of-date details, will be removed and any points or vouchers forfeited.
- The Clubcard is not transferable, cannot be copied and can only be used by the member who is named and registered on the account. Clubcard key fobs may be used by anyone who is resident at the same registered address.
- The Clubcard, coupons and vouchers remain the responsibility of the Clubcard member, as do any security details relating to the account. Tesco cannot be held responsible for any loss arising from the member failing to ensure the safe-keeping of these items.
- Tesco may decline to issue, withdraw or cancel Clubcards, coupons, vouchers and points, in whatever form, and/or remove a member from the scheme if: there is reasonable belief of any abuse or attempted abuse of the scheme, any breach or attempted breach of these terms and conditions and/or those relating to the optional elements of the scheme, any behaviour relating to Clubcard or the Tesco Group that involves theft, misconduct, abusive or offensive behaviour, or supplying false or misleading information.

- Clubcard accounts, Clubcards, coupons, points and vouchers cannot be transferred, bought, sold or traded in any way.
- 2 members who are registered and live at the same address may join their Clubcard accounts together. When either member provides or updates information relating to the joint account, they must have the consent of the other member to do so and for us to use this information in accordance with the terms and conditions of the scheme. Tesco cannot be held responsible for any loss to either account member as a result of the other account member providing or updating information relating to the joint account. Joint accounts may be split into single accounts by either member. Any points accrued will be divided based on the Clubcard with which they were originally collected. Tesco will take no responsibility for the allocation of vouchers that have already been issued.
- Members who live outside of the UK will not be eligible for receiving a paper statement, and their statement will be sent to their registered email address. Members who live in the UK may be able to express a preference for their statement and, where we have their consent, other Clubcard mailings, to be sent to their registered email address or mobile phone number. We will endeavour to respect this preference but reserve the right to send these to the member's registered postal address without prior notification to the member. This may be necessary for business or policy reasons, or where there are problems with the registered email address or mobile phone number provided by the member.
- Members can choose to leave the scheme at any time. By leaving the scheme members forfeit the right to any points already accrued. Paper vouchers will continue to work while they remain valid.
- Members may inherit the points and/or the points value of vouchers of a family member who has died by providing us with the membership details of the deceased. - Clubcard points that cannot be converted into Clubcard vouchers because they are below the qualifying threshold or points that remain following conversion, will be 'carried forward' as the starting balance(s) for the next collection period.

Minimum Unit Pricing and Minimum Selling Price restrictions
Due to MUP (Scotland/Wales) and MSP (England/NI) restrictions, Colleague discount can sometimes risk breaching the minimum price on alcohol products. Where this happens, the systems are built to apportion as much Colleague discount as possible before the remaining Colleague discount is lost. On alcohol products that reach the minimum price, Colleagues may see less than 10% (15% during payday weekends) applied to that product. We'll apportion the Colleague discount across other non-alcohol items in your basket to ensure that you are getting as much of your Colleague discount as possible. Colleagues will see some exclusions from Colleague discount where sales of these products would make Tesco non-compliant.
As a reminder:
• Bottles priced below £5.50 in England and NI are excluded from any 25% off when you buy 6 bottles of wine promotion that may be running in England and NI.
• Bottles priced below £7 in Wales are excluded from any 25% off when you buy 6 bottles of wine promotion that may be running in Wales.
