Old-fashioned pink lemonade recipe

Kick back on your picnic blanket and sip on a glass of traditional pink lemonade. Made with fresh raspberries, lemons and pink grapefruit, juiced and topped up with sparkling water, this pretty picnic drink is sure to refresh.

Ingredients
- 5 raspberries, plus extra to garnish
- 5 tbsp caster sugar, or to taste
- 300ml (1/2pt) freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 300ml (1/2pt) freshly squeezed pink grapefruit, juice (about 2-3 grapefruits)
- 1 ltr (1 3/4pt) sparkling water, chilled

- In a small bowl, crush the raspberrieswith 1/2 tbsp sugar. Set aside.
- Combine the lemon and grapefruitjuices in a punch bowl. Add the crushed raspberry mixture, remaining sugar and 200ml (7fl oz) water, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
- Strain the liquid into a large jug and pour into a transportable bottle; chill for 1 hour, then pack in a cool bag to take to your picnic. To serve, pourthe juice into glasses and top up with sparkling water. Garnish with a few extra raspberries.
