Maple glazed bacon-wrapped dates recipe

Ingredients
- 50g walnut halves
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 15g fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 lemon, zested
- 200g soft pitted dates
- 14 rashers smoked streaky bacon, halved
- 3 tbsp maple syrup

Method
- Preheat the oven to gas 5, 190°C, fan 170°C. Line 2 baking trays with foil. Chop the walnuts, then tip into a bowl with the olive oil, parsley and lemon zest. Season and mix well.
- Using a teaspoon, fill each date with the walnut stuffing and pinch to enclose.
- Wrap each date with a piece of bacon, securing in place with a cocktail stick. Arrange on the baking trays and brush with the maple syrup. Bake for 20 mins until the bacon is crisp, turning halfway through cooking. Cool for 5 mins before transferring to a serving platter. Scatter with any remaining herby filling.
