Ginger and orange mojito

We’ve added a festive twist to a classic Mojito recipe with the addition of fresh ginger and a homemade spiced orange and honey syrup. If you don’t have a cocktail muddler, you can use the end of a wooden spoon or a pestle and mortar.

    Ingredients

    • 2 tbsp spiced honey & orange syrup
    • 1 thin slice fresh ginger​
    • 6-8 mint leaves, plus 1 mint sprig for garnish
    • 50ml rum
    • crushed ice
    • 75ml soda water

    Method

    1. Make the spiced honey and orange syrup.
    2. Add the ginger to the base of a highball glass. Slap the loose mint leaves in the palm of your hand to release their aromas, then add to the glass. Muddle well. Add the rum and 2 tbsp syrup to the glass. Half fill with crushed ice and churn well with spoon to combine. Top with up with soda water and fill with more crushed ice. Garnish with a mint sprig and serve.
