Ingredients

  • 100g Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 150ml evaporated milk
  • crudités, endive and bread, to serve

Method

  1. Grate the Cheddar and tip into a mixing bowl. Stir in the cornflour and mustard powder until the cheese is coated.
  2. Put the cheese mix in a pan and pour over the evaporated milk. Cook over a low heat for 6-8 mins, stirring regularly, until the sauce becomes thick and glossy. It is important to use a low heat to melt the cheese gently.
  3. Pour into a serving dish and serve immediately with mini breadsticks, bread slices and crudités.
