Bulgogi marinade recipe

Created by The Tesco Recipes team
This Korean-inspired marinade works beautifully with steak. Once you've made the marinade, add thinly sliced meat so it soaks up the flavour quickly – the pear helps to tenderise the meat too. Marinating for 30 minutes is all you need to pack a punch, but don’t leave it longer than a couple of hours or the meat can turn mushy. This bulgogi sauce is the perfect base for easy weeknight dinners.

Method
- Mix the pear, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger and sesame seeds in a bowl.
- Add your protein (we like thinly sliced sirloin steak); cover and marinate at room temperature for 30 mins. If you like, stir-fry with carrots and onions until cooked.
- To serve: This recipe is for the marinade only, so don't forget to buy your protein and veg. Stir-fry until cooked through.

- Food safety: Never use a marinade that has been in contact with raw meat or seafood without thoroughly cooking it, as it can contain harmful bacteria.
