Background

History

Tudor-style Château Cantenac-Brown was founded in the 19th century. John Lewis Brown, son of an English merchant, Epicurean and artist, held popular society functions there and the château’s wines had an excellent reputation. Cantenac Brown was included in the famous 1855 classification. Acquired by AXA-Millésimes in 1989, it was extensively renovated. The vineyard is managed with eco-friendly farming to limit chemical treatments. Since 2006, the Chateau belongs to Mr. Simon Halabi.

Margaux is one of the most famous vineyard areas in the world, producing some of the most sought after and highly prized (and priced) wines money can buy. The combination of maritime climate, favourable soil composition and vineyard aspect have allowed producers to make elegant, long lasting and memorable wines, given the right vintage conditions.
