Description

Ceratopteris siliquosa, commonly known as Water Sprite in its emerged form, is a fast-growing, hardy plant that is often found along the margins of ponds or aquariums in its natural state. When grown in its emerged form, Ceratopteris siliquosa develops upright, lush green foliage that can add height and a natural jungle-like appearance to paludariums, ripariums, or ponds. This plant is perfect for beginners, as it requires minimal care and adapts well to a variety of water conditions. Water Sprite thrives in moderate to high light, and its rapid growth makes it an excellent choice for providing cover or serving as a nutrient sponge to prevent algae growth. Though it does not require CO2 supplementation, it will grow faster and develop more robust foliage in nutrient-rich environments. Ceratopteris siliquosa can be used in a range of setups, from ponds to aquariums, where it can either grow partially submerged or fully emerged, depending on the environment.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Plants are incubated for one hour in a 0.01% solution of the insecticide Buprofezin. Please do not drop them straight into a shrimp tank, or any tank holding other crustaceans. To use them in such a tank, first wash them in water with baking soda, under light. They are treated to remove the insecticide, but there are cases where it has not been fully removed, causing casualties among crustaceans.
