Description

Cryptocoryne beckettii is a popular and hardy aquatic plant, valued for its beautiful, dark green to reddish-brown, lance-shaped leaves. It is perfect for midground placement in aquariums, adding color and texture to any aquascape. Cryptocoryne beckettii is highly adaptable and can thrive in a variety of water conditions, making it an excellent choice for beginners and seasoned aquarists alike. It tolerates a wide range of pH and can grow in low-light conditions, though it will display more vibrant colors and faster growth under moderate light and with CO2 supplementation. Like many Cryptocoryne species, it may experience a "melt" phase where the leaves die back before regrowing stronger as the plant adapts to new conditions. Once established, Cryptocoryne beckettii is a slow to moderate grower that requires minimal maintenance and provides a lush, natural look to aquariums.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Plants are incubated for one hour in a 0.01% solution of the insecticide Buprofezin. Please do not drop them straight into a shrimp tank, or any tank holding other crustaceans. To use them in such a tank, first wash them in water with baking soda, under light. They are treated to remove the insecticide, but there are cases where it has not been fully removed, causing casualties among crustaceans.
