Description

Limnophila aromatica is a striking aquatic plant valued for its finely serrated leaves, which display vibrant shades of green, red, and purple depending on light and growing conditions. Widely used in aquariums and paludariums, it adds colour, texture, and a lush, natural feel, making it especially popular as a midground or background plant. This species can grow either fully submerged or emersed, with submerged growth showing the most intense coloration under strong lighting. While sometimes sold as a culinary herb in its emersed form, Limnophila aromatica adapts well to aquatic environments when provided with nutrient-rich substrates and stable water parameters. Its moderate care requirements and vivid appearance make it a favourite among aquarists looking to enhance visual contrast in planted tanks.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Plants are incubated for one hour in a 0.01% solution of the insecticide Buprofezin. Please do not drop them straight into a shrimp tank, or any tank holding other crustaceans. To use them in such a tank, first wash them in water with baking soda, under light. They are treated to remove the insecticide, but there are cases where it has not been fully removed, causing casualties among crustaceans.
