Description

Crinum calamistratum is a unique and highly desirable aquatic plant known for its long, wavy, dark green leaves that create a flowing, elegant appearance in the aquarium. This plant thrives in larger tanks due to its size, making it an excellent choice for midground to background placement. Crinum calamistratum grows from a large, bulbous base with strong roots, anchoring it firmly in the substrate, even in tanks with moderate to strong water flow. The plant prefers stable water conditions with moderate to bright lighting and benefits from nutrient-rich substrates. While CO2 supplementation is not necessary, it can help promote faster growth and healthier leaves. Crinum calamistratum is a slow to moderate grower, making it easy to maintain in aquascapes without the need for frequent pruning. Its distinctive appearance and ability to tolerate stronger water currents make it a favorite among aquarists looking for a hardy yet visually stunning plant.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Plants are incubated for one hour in a 0.01% solution of the insecticide Buprofezin. Please do not drop them straight into a shrimp tank, or any tank holding other crustaceans. To use them in such a tank, first wash them in water with baking soda, under light. They are treated to remove the insecticide, but there are cases where it has not been fully removed, causing casualties among crustaceans.
