Description

Alternanthera cardinalis is a popular and stunning aquarium plant, well known for its large, vibrant red and purple leaves that make it a centerpiece in any planted aquarium. Its height makes it an ideal choice for the midground or background, where it adds depth and color contrast to green plants. While it requires moderate care, especially in terms of lighting, CO2, and nutrients, it rewards aquarists with lush, fast growth. For best results, provide strong lighting to maintain the rich red tones, and consider CO2 supplementation to boost its growth rate. This plant is perfect for aquarists looking to create a bold, dramatic display in their tanks.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Plants are incubated for one hour in a 0.01% solution of the insecticide Buprofezin. Please do not drop them straight into a shrimp tank, or any tank holding other crustaceans. To use them in such a tank, first wash them in water with baking soda, under light. They are treated to remove the insecticide, but there are cases where it has not been fully removed, causing casualties among crustaceans.
