Description

Cabomba piauhyensis, commonly known as Red Cabomba, is a stunning and visually striking aquatic plant known for its finely divided, feathery red to purplish leaves. This plant adds a vibrant splash of color to any aquarium and is perfect for background placement, where its tall, bushy growth can create a lush, dynamic backdrop. Cabomba piauhyensis thrives in high-light environments, and CO2 supplementation is strongly recommended to promote healthy growth and maintain its vibrant red coloration. It requires nutrient-rich water and regular trimming due to its fast growth rate. Red Cabomba can be more challenging to care for compared to other Cabomba species, making it better suited for experienced aquarists. However, when given the right conditions, it is a rewarding plant that adds a dramatic, eye-catching element to any aquascape.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Plants are incubated for one hour in a 0.01% solution of the insecticide Buprofezin. Please do not drop them straight into a shrimp tank, or any tank holding other crustaceans. To use them in such a tank, first wash them in water with baking soda, under light. They are treated to remove the insecticide, but there are cases where it has not been fully removed, causing casualties among crustaceans.
