| Product Care Instructions | Chit the seed potatoes before planting by placing them in a cool, bright, frost-free spot at around 7°C until short, sturdy shoots about 2.5cm long form. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, 10cm deep, spacing early varieties 30cm apart in rows 45cm apart (maincrop 40cm apart, rows 60cm apart). Earth up the soil around the base every few days as shoots appear to prevent greening and protect from frost. Water well during dry spells, especially at flowering, and feed with a specialist potato fertiliser if desired. Cover with horticultural fleece or bring indoors on cold nights to protect from frost. |
