Description

Discover the exceptional taste of Tomato 'Black Moon' F1, a cherry tomato variety that redefines flavour. Its unique bi-colour fruits, a stunning blend of sweet red and savoury purple-black hues, offer a rich and complex taste that has been voted the best in trials, even surpassing popular varieties like 'Sungold'. These slightly oval fruits, measuring about 5cm, have a juicy yet firm texture and a dripless interior, making them perfect for fresh consumption and culinary creations straight from your garden. How to Grow: - For greenhouses: sow from February to April. - Outdoors: sow from March to April. - Sow seeds on damp, free-draining compost and cover lightly. - Maintain a temperature of 15–20°C during germination. - Pot on seedlings once they develop two true leaves. - Transplant to their final positions when plants reach 20cm tall and have been hardened off. - Outdoors, plant after all risk of frost has passed, ensuring a spacing of 60cm between plants. - Provide support using canes and soft ties. - Feed plants regularly and ensure consistent watering throughout the growing season. 'Black Moon' F1 is a cordon (indeterminate) type, meaning the plants will grow tall, reaching up to 200cm. They are productive and offer reliable harvests throughout the season. A significant advantage of this variety is its strong resistance to late blight, offering a worry-free growing experience for gardeners. This half-hardy annual is ideal for growing in greenhouses or sunny outdoor locations and is a rewarding choice for any tomato enthusiast. Companion Planting Tip: - Grow alongside French marigolds to deter whitefly. - Consider planting with basil, chives, or mint to help prevent aphids. Images provided are for illustrative purposes only, showing expected plant maturity. Actual results may vary due to different growing conditions. Decorative pots are not included.
