Ligustrum vulgare ‘Liga’ is a versatile semi-evergreen privet, perfect for hedging, wildlife-friendly gardens, or as a free-standing specimen. Its small leaves cloak spreading branches, providing year-round structure, while summer nectar-rich flowers attract bees and butterflies. Growing Instructions
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Tolerates a wide range of soils, including sand, chalk, and clay. Free-standing shrubs require minimal pruning; remove dead, damaged, or diseased growth each spring. Trim formal hedges in May and August. Mulch with 5cm of well-rotted compost or manure after pruning. New growth returns quickly in spring, even if foliage is lost in severe cold.
