Benriach - Single Cask #3607 1996 18 year old Whisky

An 18 year old full cask strength BenRiach drawn from a single sherry cask which yielded just 668 bottles.

Finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks and bottled at 54.4% ABV.

A UK exclusive distilled in 1996 and part of the Batch 11 single cask releases.

Nose: Freshly polished wood, syrupy smoked almonds, sweet honey glazed ham, cola bottles, treacle tart, old jamaica ginger cake, cold beef and wholegrain mustard, sappy wood, aromatic spices and sweet sherry.

Palate: Burnt creme brulee tops (demorera sugar) raisin fudge, toffee apple, nut brittle, sherried oak, black cherry jam, marzipan, dark chocolate and walnut whips.

Finish: Dark chocolate, mocha, buttery malt loaf, treacle tart, sherry soaked raisins, muscat wine, black cherries in kirsch, mincemeat.

A wintery/autumnal Benriach that has just about the right level of sweet PX cask influence.
