Product Care InstructionsBlueberries require a sunny spot with well-drained, acidic soil (pH between 4.5 and 5.5). They don’t tolerate waterlogged soil, so choose a location with good drainage. Sunlight: Full sun is ideal, but they can also tolerate partial shade. Soil: Blueberries thrive in acidic, peat-based soil. If your soil is alkaline, consider growing blueberries in large pots or raised beds with acidic compost. Preparing the Soil Blueberries need acidic soil, so it’s important to amend your soil before planting. If your garden soil is too alkaline (pH above 7), follow these steps: Add ericaceous compost or peat-based compost to lower the pH. You can also use sulfur to acidify the soil, but check pH levels regularly to ensure the right acidity. Planting Blueberries Timing: Plant blueberries in early spring or autumn when the soil is moist and temperatures are cool. Spacing: Space plants about 45–60 cm (18–24 inches) apart to allow for growth. Planting Method: Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the root ball. Place the plant in the hole, making sure the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Fill the hole with acidic compost, then water thoroughly. Watering Blueberries have shallow roots and prefer consistent moisture, but they do not like being waterlogged. Water regularly, especially during dry periods, and use rainwater if possible, as tap water can be alkaline. Mulching around the base of the plant helps retain moisture and keeps the roots cool. Avoid using a sprinkler system, as it can overwater; instead, water at the base of the plant. Feeding and Fertilising Blueberries are sensitive to fertilisers, so use a specialist ericaceou
