Description

Marshalls Garden Strong Star F1 is an early, super-sweet sweetcorn variety with vigorous growth and heavy, easy-to-pick cobs. Each pack contains 50 seeds. Sow one seed per pot indoors from April in moist seed compost and keep warm until seedlings reach about 15cm, then harden off over 7 to 14 days and transplant outdoors after the risk of frost. For direct sowing wait until soil has warmed. Plant in blocks rather than single rows, spacing 45cm between plants and rows to improve pollination and cob quality. Mature plants reach around 2m tall. Harvest when kernels produce a milky juice when pressed (fingernail test).
