Description

Plum ‘Opal’ is a dependable, heavy-cropping variety producing red-flushed fruits with juicy, golden-yellow flesh that ripen in late summer. Fan-trained and compact, it suits small gardens, patios or sunny walls and is covered in attractive white blossom that draws pollinators. Self-fertile and reliable, it produces fruit without a pollination partner. Supplied as a 1 x 5L bare-root, fan-trained specimen on St Julien A rootstock (Flowering Group FG3). Height at maturity approx. 3m (10ft); fruits in 2-4 years from planting; plants dispatched at 1-2 years old.
