Description

Marshalls Garden Baby Beet Action F1 produces smooth, round, sweet and tender beets that are perfect when picked young. This bolt-resistant variety offers a long harvest period and performs well in patio pots, raised beds and small vegetable plots. Sow from spring to mid-summer, 3cm deep in fertile soil with rows 30cm apart; thin seedlings where necessary to about 10cm apart. Begin harvesting roots when around 2.5cm (1in) diameter and pick leaves and thinnings for salads. Companion plants such as lettuce, spinach, marigolds, onions or dwarf beans can support growth and deter pests. Seed little and often to extend the harvest and enjoy versatile homegrown beetroot for roasting, pickling, salads or storage.
