Description

Marshalls Garden Potimarron is a high-quality chestnut pumpkin variety producing large, flavorful fruits of around 3 kg with dark yellow-orange flesh. This pack contains 20 seeds and is perfect for gardeners seeking versatile squash for roasting, soups, pies and baking. Sow outdoors from May once the last frosts have passed, or start seeds indoors and transplant after soil warms. Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot with fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or well-rotted manure. Sow 2–3 seeds per hole at 2.5 cm deep and thin to the strongest seedling, allowing 100 cm between plants and rows. Feed established plants every 10–14 days with a high-potash fertiliser to support fruit development. Harvest when stems are dry and corky; cut fruits and leave in the sun or on a windowsill for 10–14 days to harden skins for storage. Good companion plants include sweetcorn and beans.
