Description

Organic Oat Groats Organic Oat Groats are the whole, hulled kernels of the oat with nothing milled away, which is why they cook to a chewy, separate grain rather than a soft porridge. Simmer them for 45 to 60 minutes, or soak overnight to shorten that, for a slow-cooked breakfast with real bite. Oat groats also work like a wholegrain rice: dress them while still warm for grain salads with roast squash, feta and herbs, stir them into soups and stews, or bake them into loaves and traybakes. Next to rolled oats they take longer to cook and hold their shape far better, so they suit batch cooking. Sussex Wholefoods pack them in a resealable bag.Key points:Minimally processed, whole hulled kernels.Soil Association certified organic.Simmer 45 to 60 minutes, or soak overnight first, for porridge with a chewy bite.Use in grain salads, soups, stews and baking.Resealable bag; store somewhere cool and dry.
