Tomintoul - Small Batch Merlot Wine Cask Finish Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tomintoul Distillery was built in 1965, within the picturesque Cairngorms National Park. The Master Distiller, Robert Fleming, created this small batch bottling by specially selecting Tomintoul aged in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak barrels, which are then married & finished in hand selected Merlot wine barrels from the Bordeaux region, France. The process of ‘finishing’ creates a beautifully rich, complex & full flavoured single malt scotch whisky. Tasting Notes: Nose: Aromatic notes of fruit blossom and summer berries mixed with cinnamon buns, acacia honey and candied peels. Taste: Sweet layers of Morello cherry jam, summer pudding and redcurrant jam cushioned with tobacco spices and cocoa powder. Finish: Cosy cake spices and cappuccino foam fading into almond fingers and toasted pecans. Think 25: Please be prepared to show ID when receiving alcohol deliveries.
