Preparation and Usage

Important: it is normal for there to be an odour from this product when opened. Allow joint to rest for 5-10 minutes once removed from the packaging so that the odour can dissipate.

Oven

Instructions: Remove all packaging and rest pork at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking. OVEN: 230°C/Fan 210°C/Gas 8. For weight see front of pack. Calculate the cooking time at 35 minutes per 500g plus 35 minutes. Place the pork joint on a roasting tray. Dry the rind and lightly rub with oil and generously sprinkle with salt. Then place in the centre of a pre-heated oven and cook for 35 minutes. Reduce temperature to 190°C/Fan 170°C/Gas 5 and cook for remaining time. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before carving. Remove crackling, carve and serve.

Storage

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Once defrosted use within 24 hours and do not refreeze. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 24 hours in the fridge. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 1 day and by ‘use by’ date shown.
