- 1tsp bicarbonate soda
- 2tsp ground ginger
- 100g butter
- 175g brown sugar
- 4tbsp golden syrup
- 1 beaten egg

- Sift the plain flour, mix 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 2 tsp ground ginger together.
- Rub in 100g butter then add 175g brown sugar, 4tbsp golden syrup and 1 beaten egg. Mix to form a soft dough. Roll out and stamp out 12 gingerbread men.
- Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at Gas Mark 5, 190ºC, fan 170ºC for 10-12mins. Leave to cool.
- Get the kids to decorate these gingerbread men biscuits using tubes of ready-made white and black icing to look like skeletons.
