Horseradish and caper cream cheese with smoked salmon

Impress your party guests with this simple festive smoked salmon canapé. The cream cheese is packed with an array of different flavours including horseradish, capers, chives and lemon giving you an indulgent, and beautiful, Christmas snack.

    Ingredients

    • 1 tbsp capers
    • 10g bunch of chives
    • 1 lemon
    • 180g (6oz) cream cheese
    • 1 1/2 tbsp horseradish sauce
    • 20 Tesco Finest biscuits for cheese
    • 180g (6oz) smoked salmon

    Method

    1. Chop the capers and the chives, then zest the lemon. Combine the cream cheese and horseradish in a bowl and add the capers, half of the chives and half of the lemon zest along with a generous sprinkling of salt and pepper. Combine everything well.
    2. Cut the biscuits into bite-sized pieces. Transfer the cream cheese mixture to a piping bag and squeeze a little on to one end of each cheese biscuit. Roll small slices of smoked salmon into roses and arrange next to the cream cheese on each biscuit.
    3. Sprinkle the canapés with the leftover chopped chive and lemon zest, then serve up and offer to your guests!
