Description

The spectacular ‘Paulownia Tomentosa’ will provide wondrous displays of violet trumpet blooms, above thick stems that can reach up to 8ft in a season! The mesmerising blooms are not only easy on the eye, but also give off a delicateable scent, attracting the pollinating insects! A must for your garden! Sow in trays, pots, etc of good seed compost in a propagator or warm place to maintain an optimum temperature of 65-70F (18-20C). Sow in well drained compost, just covering the seed with compost, but do not exclude light, which is beneficial to germination. Sow at any time of year. Germination usually takes 21-60 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Grow on in a cold frame and plant out the following spring in full sun 30cm (12in) apart. Prefers a sheltered sunny site and a moist, well drained soil.
