This sherry wood is a rare choice for whisky maturation, making this release particularly special. Distilled in 2015, this Islay whisky was finished for seven months in a first till Palo Cortado hogshead, with only 356 bottles available.Nose: Notes of rusk, lighter fluid, seaweed, acrylic, and white chocolate.Palate: Flavors of watercolour, raisin, moist earth, spiced wood, apple cake, orange peel, scallion, sawmill, and salmon.Finish: Hints of petrol vapour, licorice, barley, soy sauce, shrimp, dough, rubber, driftwood, and a burst of fireworks.
