Vinification Details

The fruit was crushed and destemmed to the press, the juice was held at 0 degrees for 15 days, mixed twice daily before being racked and inoculated for a cool-fermentation which took place in stainless steel tanks, ensuring the retention of the primary fruit aromas. This wine was then blended and filtered prior to bottling.

History

Established in 1972, by Janet and Rodney Pratt, Bolney Wine Estate in West Sussex was one of the first, and remains one of the most beautiful, English wine estates. Janet and Rodney were pioneers. Guided by nature - the mild climate and the sandstone soil - they discovered the best varieties of grapes to grow in their eco-system. The team now produce award-winning still and sparkling wines from our famous Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris to our classic sparkling Bolney Bubbly and Blanc de Blancs.

Regional Information

West Sussex offers ideal terroir for viticulture, with chalky, free-draining soils, a cool maritime climate, and sun-exposed south-facing slopes. These conditions promote slow ripening and excellent acidity, making it perfect for high-quality wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier.
