Preparation and Usage

Remove the crackling before carving.

For best results, carve across the width of the joint into slices.

Oven

Instructions: 200°C/ Fan 180°C/ Gas 6 1 hr 50 mins. Remove all packaging and allow the joint to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before roasting. Set the glaze sachet aside for later use. Pat the rind dry with kitchen paper to remove any excess moisture. Place the joint in a roasting tray and cover the sides with foil, ensuring the foil does not cover the rind. Place the tray in the centre of a pre-heated oven, remove the foil from the sides for the final 10 minutes of cooking. Once cooked, allow the joint to rest in a warm place for 10–15 minutes before carving. Check food is piping hot throughout, all juices run clear and no pink colour remains.

Microwave

Instructions: Not suitable for microwave cooking

Hob

Instructions: To prepare the glaze, place the sachet in a saucepan with water and heat gently for 2 minutes until piping hot. Do not boil the water. Once heated, pour the hot glaze evenly over the carved joint before serving.

Storage

Suitable for freezing. Ideally freeze as soon as possible after purchase but always by 'use by' date shown. Defrost thoroughly for a minimum of 8 hours in the fridge. Follow the preparation guidelines above. Not suitable for cooking from frozen. Keep refrigerated. Once opened, consume within 1 day and by ‘use by’ date shown.
