The Vinho Verde region is a demarcated wine region in the northwest of Portugal, spanning a large area from the Atlantic coast to the Douro River. It's known for its young, light, and refreshing wines, typically characterized by high acidity and a slight spritz.

Vinification Details

The night harvest allows the grapes to keep their freshness and aromatic properties. At the vinification center, the grapes undergo soft pressing at low pressures. The alcoholic fermentation happens in strictly controlled temperatures, followed by aging in stainless steel vats and bottling.

History

150 years ago, following the dream of the company's founder, Manoel Pedro Guedes, Quinta da Aveleda produced its first white wine. This wine was tasted by the main critics of the time, in Berlin and Paris, immediately gaining quality recognition with a gold and silver medal. From this point on, Aveleda was created, with a distinct wine, of great quality, appreciated by many, which today is distributed to more than 70 countries.
