This wine comes from an 80-year-old single vineyard at 930 meters in altitude in Agrelo, Mendoza, where the soils are rich in clay.

Vinification Details

The grapes were sourced from a single vineyard, gently pressed and fermented in 250 litre French oak barrels, 10% of which are new, and further matured in oak for 15 months, with 20% of the wines matured under a veil of flor. Wild yeasts were used for the fermentation.

History

Founded by Adrianna Catena and Alejandro Vigil, El Enemigo was born from a desire to carve our own path, and a shared obsession with terroir - each bottle an unfettered song to the wild, free-spirited soul. Our aim is to create wines that reflect the freshness and character of each individual vineyard: a pure expression of our terroir. Meaning "The Enemy", El Enemigo is the battle we remember at the end - the one that defines us. El Enemigo is that which we must overcome when we pursue greatness.
