Preparation and Usage

Ingredients for roti:350 g Wholemeal flourOptional pinch of salt250 ml warm water3 tbsp vegetable oilSkillet or Tava for cooking rotiRolling pin.Mix flour and salt (optional) together in a bowl. Add vegetable oil and stir. Gently add water, continually mixing until a semi soft dough. Cover with a moist cloth and rest for 10 minutes.Make small balls, slightly smaller than an egg in size. Flatten and roll on dry flour with a rolling pin. It should be 4-5 mm thick and 6-8 inch in diameter and round in shape.Cook in a preheated Skillet, tava or a Griddle until golden brown on both sides. Serve with a knob of butter.

Storage

Store flour in a cool, dry place, away from heat and moisture. Seal tightly after opening to maintain freshness. Do not pour new flour onto older flour.
