Hard and burnt
I only bought these because Tesco's own is no available. They were hard and burnt, not very nice. Also, check the weight! I normally buy one bag of Tesco's croutons for the three of us when I make a Caesar salad - I would need three bags of these - they're tiny. For a company that calls itself the Crouton Company, they don't seem to know much about croutons. Bring back the Tesco croutons!!!
Can double up as a "crisp" type snack or for soup
I enjoyed these- they basically come like a bag of crisps, and if you have a savoury tooth you can eat them like crisps, they are much the same in terms of calories! They go well with soup, too, and are not overly strong nor are they tasteless. A nice, average addition to soup then. These are vegan I think, at least going off the packet.
Not nice!
Such a disappointment. For a recipe with (apparently) 6% garlic puree plus parsley, sea salt and an olive oil dressing, these croutons managed to taste of nothing at all, and the texture wasn't much to write home about either. The garden birds have ignored them, and quite right too. Serves me right for being lazy - I'll go back to making my own.
