Crumbly, messy & nothing special taste wise
I found this a very disappointing cake. Do not buy this if you're entertaining. Firstly, it is considerably smaller than it appears and certainly for the price. It has a cardboard collar but just cellophane at the bottom so you will need to peel that off & get it on a plate. This is not as easy as it sounds as it is incredibly crumbly. I ended up using a spoon to dish up a slice, I can't imagine how you would cope with using a knife. I like to use a pastry fork for cake eating but even that was a struggle as it was just falling apart the whole time, throwing crumbs everywhere. It wasn't even that great a taste. I've used chocolate sponge mixes that taste better and I'm no cook. I liked the creamy top with the Maltesers, that was about it. All in all, I would not recommend this cake to anyone and I will be complaining to the manufacturers.
Just delicious. If you can't cope with it, send it to me and I'll help.
Awful, tasteless, dry and tiny!
This was one of the nastiest cakes I have ever eaten - firstly tiny - ok not that much of an issue if it tasted nice. Pure sugar, no flavour, dry horrible texture, the only thing that tasted a bit like chocolate were the buttons and they were soft and chewy not maltesery at all, the icing was just brown paste. The kids said it was like the very cheapest mass produced "takeaway" birthday cake you get at parties which usually ends up in the bin. Avoid.
