Indigestible

1 stars

The texture was rubbery and the taste was awful!

They break up when cutting, useless.

The problem with these rolls is not the taste, that is fine. It’s the structure of the top, no matter how I try to bake them, even adhering strictly to the instructions, the top of the roll breaks into pieces when cut. It’s the way the are structured to look like a fancy plaited, rustic type roll. Just a plain top that doesn’t break up and fall apart would make them really great rolls. I won’t be buying any more until it’s sorted, too fiddly and I end up having to throw the tops away.

Awful

Great rolls - Try them

5 stars

A very nice tasty roll, if cooked right. I always sprinkle with water first. I purchased a number of packs just after the first lockdown. I have continued using them ever since, even well after the use by date (By 3 Months!) these rolls were excellent and retained their quality taste, I really must stop putting the new on top of the old 🤔. I now order them on a regular basis. Great for lunch, etc and with soups. Having read some other reviews here I wondered if my 'matured' (old) rolls had improved over time but no the new ones are just as good. I can only wonder how those who had 'sub standard' product stored their rolls or maybe it was the Tesco store at fault (unlikely but...). Relatively expensive, but you usually get what you pay for.

Emergency Use Only

2 stars

Very small when baked. Plenty of crust, but very little bread inside. Useful in an emergency, but not a product to be eaten for pleasure!

Tasty

I dont understand the negative comments. These rolls are really nice, crusty but not too crusty. Just had one with my cassarole. Any comments about the sell by dates is surely a supermarket issue not the rolls.
