Hot or Not? in this case Not
Flavour is very much the same as American style mustard but not as hot, I usually use english mustard but was looking for something hotter this is not it. 3 chilli score on the bottle but in reality not even a 1.
Great sauce, shame about the bottle
I absolutely love this sauce - pretty mild but lovely & tasty. It's a bit like a mix of mild piccalilli & mild horseradish - it's got all the flavour of both with less vinegar & less heat so goes with almost everything & it's delicious on toast. The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars from me is that it really is very difficult to get out of the bottle.
Husband thought it tasted like the sauce that's the basis of piccalilli but I didn't think it tasted vinegary at all. Not particularly hot but I could distinguish between the horseradish and mustard and it's great on Richmond meat free saugages in a bread roll! It's impossible to shake or pour it out of the bottle, you need a long handled spoon really.
Very nice flavour, but packaging difficult to use
Delicious! But so hard to get out of the bottle. It needs a wider-necked container.
Really tasty if you like horseradish!
Really like this, I was looking for a dairy free horseradish and this was the only one I could find - I wasn’t sure if it would be what I was looking for, but it’s very nice. Tastes amazing on a sandwich with squeaky bean pastrami! Would also be great on a beef style dinner
Not that wicked.
NOT SPICY. It's ok otherwise but as a 'hot sauce' it's useless.
No heat, particularly vile with a nasty aftertaste. I will be avoiding from now on!
I feel like someone's got the heat ratings of this
I feel like someone's got the heat ratings of this and the Mazin Mango mixed up, because this isn't hot at all, so I don't know how it has a 3 chilli rating. The texture is awful and it's really thick, so it's hard to get out of the bottle.
All other easily available horseradish sauces contain sulphites. This was the only one I could find without sulphites so I thought I would give it a go. A bit worried it might be too mustardy as I am not a huge fan of mustard. Not sure whether to be relieved or disappointed. Neither punchy nor anything really. Really difficult to get out of the jar as it is a totally unsuitable shape for the texture of the product. Managed to scrape the contents out into a small reused jar for ease of use. I used to use horseradish as a tenderiser and flavouring on pork fillet (tenderloin) before coating in rosemary, then egg and breadcrumbs, and baking in a foil parcel for an hour and a quarter. Tried this and the pork was not as tender but okay, but no taste contribution. Will someone please make a horseradish sauce without sulphites or maybe Tesco would consider stocking fresh horseradish root?
I love horseradish and I love mustard. This product has an overwhelming nasty taste of vinegar. Wrecked 2 meals! Now in the bin. (Comments based upon one purchase).
