Definitely hot lovely
I like very hot. I usually buy the fresh birds eye chillies but they weren't available, despair! Read these reviews, thanks all, thought I'd try them. Well they are great. I made a four portion curry put two teaspoons in with the onions and garlic added meat, then tomatoes, salt, splash of fresh lemon, herbs and chickpeas. Simmer hour or so. Served with basmati rice. Yes hot lovely converted because will keep longer. I recommend these. A side dish of greek yoghurt with curry keeps you cooler.
Got a kick to them
Definitely got a kick to them , and I only used a pinch . First time using these hence the short comment .
I can't mark these down for not reading the label
I can't mark these down for not reading the label properly. I did not realise that these are super hot and not the same as the normal chilli flakes that I buy. Embarrassingly I thought Birds Eye was the brand! Ruined my dish as I added too much and had to chuck it away, however if you are after hot, then this is for you.
When Tesco said "firey" they weren't lying!
Extremely hot - use sparingly with caution unless you're a fan of the heat! At around 50k-100k on the Scoville heat scale these chillies are much hotter than a Jalapeño (3-8k) - had I known / read this I probably wouldn't have opted for this product, but you live and learn! Hopefully this review helps others!
Very spicy
Really hot on the spice level adds a kick to the dish
