Don’t waste your money
YUK! Buy shop own brand! The texture is gloppy and slimy and it has clumps of dried milk that took so long to break down and it really wasn’t worth the effort. Not had this experience from supermarket brand.
Leave on the shelf
Lumpy, poor taste. Pay the extra and buy M&S and really taste the difference.
Very good
Very good. Read other reviews so bought 2 to try while away in caravan. Pour boiling water and stir VERY thoroughly, used a fork, there are lumps of dried milk which need to be broken up properly but easily done, as they say ‘it’s not rocket science’. Will buy more in future.
As simple as it says
This has been a fantastic option to give my mother with dementia continued independence. It is as simple as the label to make a quick delicious breakfast which I can guide her through while talking on the phone. It has been a covid lifesaver when we have had to isolate. I am so disappointed it has been discontinued by Tesco. She wants a milk but no sugar breakfast and I now have to go elsewhere to buy this for her.
Tasted like nothing
It's hard to describe what nothing tastes like, but if you've never experienced it and want to, then give this a go. People say water has no taste, but after eating this you'll realise just have flavoursome water is. It was awful and I won't buy it again.
Why is it so lumpy?
Why is it so lumpy? It takes a while for the porridge to become edible. Lots of stirring and breaking up of lumps is needed, but you will still have plenty of lumps of dried milk (I think that’s what it is) in the pot. The taste isn’t good enough for the effort. It’s pretty bland, even when I add jam. Tesco brand porridge is better.
Handy
Delicious, creamy, convenient and filling.
Far preferable to those other brands which are too
Far preferable to those other brands which are too industrial - like eating woodchips - or sweetened, yuk. We like this.
NEVER AGAIN..
Absolutely AWFUL porridge. Will not be buying again. It was bland, & tasteless. I will stick to my usual M&S porridge in future.
does come with a lump of milk powder. instructions
does come with a lump of milk powder. instructions say to stir it first before adding water so having noticed the lump of powder I broke it up and it ultimately tasted fine.
