Thai Basil disaster
Sadly I purchased this for a recipe I was trying for the first time....a lentil Dahl. The Basil seemed to be packaged well enough and looked ok through the packaging. When I opened it up the basil was mainly black and not fit for eating.
This is my favourite herb ever it’s so tasty!!
That was a good laugh....of course it’s not grown in Thailand! It’s a fresh herb! Imagine the quality after travelling all that way...it can be grown over here but it’s very temperamental, it can’t be grown in a garden or outside because the temperature Britain can get to especially at night and in the winter. the temperature and light needs to be controlled for it to survive...it’s very hard herb to grow in Britain but I’d still rather it being grown here in the uk rather than travelling half way across the world...this is my favourite herb and I had it from Tesco before and it’s very nice just make sure you take it out of the packaging and place it in water on the window sill when you get home and eat it in a few days of getting it.... eat it in pho or make rice paper spring rolls, it’s delicious and super delicious, it’s great for summer and tasty meals for weight loss
I was very disappointed with the quality of the Thai basil. It may be Thai Basil but I don’t believe it was grown in Thailand. The flavour was very poor and it was expensive for what it was.
Love this. Great for making Thai dishes and cheape
