The first time I tried to thread a needle with one of these the wire came out as it tried to pull the thread through the needle (the eye was big enough for the thread and wire to pass through). They look nice and the cutter is handy, but a pair of snips or scissors will do the job just fine, without a reliable threader they are not much use.
