Why change a winning product?
Why change a winning product? What have you done to the Gooseberry Fool? I loved these and ordered them every week but the recent ones have been pale imitations of what I'm used to. Where has that lovely tart taste and thicker consistency gone? Since they've been arriving in the new recyclable plastic pots (a plus for this), the product just does not taste the same and the texture is different. They're off my shopping list now.
Lovely. Creamy and with a tang of gooseberry, bits
Lovely. Creamy and with a tang of gooseberry, bits of gooseberry included. Decent shelf life in the fridge.
Not vegetarian as it contains pork gelatine
It is hard to believe that a sweet with fruit and cream would contain pork gelatine. So, it is not acceptable if you are a vegetarian. Similar products would not have pork or other animals in them so it is not necessary.
It’s really nice. Quite pricey for such a tiny and I don’t like rough pieces of fruit in such a fluffy foamy thing, but it’s really tasty. Much better than the lemon one which was bitter.
Takes good topping on ice cream.
Yes. But needs more pulping to fruit
YOU WOULD BE A FOOL NOT TO TRY THIS
This is now my favorite. I do try to limit myself to 2 a day but its hard! Its creamy and full of gooseberry pieces.Just yummy,
Good quality with just the right amount of tang that a Gooseberry Fool should have. Makes for a nice refreshing treat.
Used to be lovely - now sweet & lost it's tang!
This used to be lovely - a good sharp, tangy taste as gooseberry fool should be. Same goes for the lemon and rhubarb varieties (same review will be left for them!) Seems to have changed over the last 6 months or so and is now pretty insipid and very sweet tasting. Why? Human beings sense of taste includes five established basic tastes: sweetness, sourness, saltiness, bitterness, and umami. It seems to me that the sour / bitter tastes are being ignored and people who enjoy those flavours are not being catered to! If you don't like sour / bitter flavours, then you probably wouldn't choose items containing lemon, gooseberry or rhubarb in the first place! Please can we have proper flavours back and stop making everything in life just be sugar-coated in every way?
Love the taste & texture of these
