Vile,lumpy,thick and gloopy
Not creamy and not as good as other brands
These makes for a bowl of cereal, but doesn't feel like a proper porridge..you feel the roughness of the oats and it doesn't become creamy. On the contrary, they float on the milk rather than getting smooth.
Yummy
we love these, make the finest porridge
Not porridge
It’s impossible to make porridge with this product, despite its name. I have tried different methods to cook the porridge but it will not absorb the liquids and you are left with a bowl of hot liquid with the oats on the bottom. I tried crushing the oats before cooking hoping this would speed absorption but it did not help. Going in the bin.
If you like chewy porridge you’ll love it.
I suppose it depends how you like your porridge. If you like porridge to be soft and smooth ie you don’t need to chew it. Then you’ll dislike this. This is big oats that don’t absorb the milk/water while cooking. In my case I used milk and ended up with big chewy hard lumps surrounded by thin milk. Only bought it as a substitute for Quaker Oats which was out of stock. Chances are if you love Quaker Oats you’ll dislike this.

Purchased as a stop gap because my fave porridge oats, Quaker/Scotts, were out of stock. These aren’t whole oats, but they’ve been milled less finely than Quaker/Scotts. Consequently, their cooking time in the microwave is closer to whole oats, than I’m used to. With 600ml of milk, they were only half cooked after 10 mins of microwave time (950w). Too slow.
Boil them to death and still the oats do not cook.
Add water or milk and boil, and boil, and boil. Unlike the competition these oats never seem to absorb the milk or form a smooth porridge. Just individual crushed grain swimming around in the liquid. Maybe soaking for a day first may help but I have never seen oats so reluctant to become porridge.
These are the best porridge oats! Everything else
These are the best porridge oats! Everything else seems so gloppy in comparison. I legitimately now do my shopping at Tesco’s just for these porridge as nothing else compares
Very good
Thank you for bringing this product back!
Hard and chewy
On hob with milk, hard and chewy. Tried doing over-night oats, hard and chewy. Horrible.
