NO CELEBRATION WITH THIS PARTY CAKE
cake was very very small compared to previous purchase but as no-one ate much of it because it was so dry and horrible the size of the cake was irrelevant. Very disappointed hope this is not the way Tesco is going in future on quality and price.
Good quality and tasty. Used to celebrate a birth

Looks better than it tastes
Lovely decoration but the cake inside was dry and crumbly with hardly any filling The cake collapsed on cutting and left each child with a shell of fondant and a napkin full of crumbs. A good sponge cake is a thing of joy. This felt like a chore to eat

Don't bother
Chose a smaller cake as my birthday was for Mum and me. This was very dry and tasteless, needed a hot drink to wash it down, not the nice chardonnay planned. It was not one thing that spoilt it: the sponge was dry, the buttercream tasteless and the jam for the most part was missing. The icing was hard not soft. We needed it for 24May and this was dated 2June. Horrible.
Dry and unpleasant to eat.
3-4-22 This cake was dry and unpleasant to eat. The sell by date on the box was 18 April 2022 - so out of date is not the reason. Very disappointed as this was being used as a birthday cake and was far from being suitable for a celebration. :-(
A Mediocre Cake Totally Ruined by a Fondant Robing
This is a dry, mostly tasteless cake wrapped in that showy, overly sweet, unappetizing fondant frosting. The package says the cake is "filled with buttercream and fruity jam," but there's only a touch of filling, and that is lost in the dryness of the cake and overpowered by the fondant robing. If you happen to enjoy fondant (that thick, hard cake helmet that comes in sheets made more for decoration and stable shelf life than for frosting a cake), and don't prefer real frosting, this cake may be right for you, but if you're looking for a real, traditional, moist cake, this is not it.
bad
Terrible. Really damp for no reason. Worse than the old £3.49 Ms Molly's party cake and for almost double the price (and half the size).
Good enough for me
I remember enjoying this cake for my birthday last year, and I find myself craving it all month in the lead up to my birthday this year. A simple and trustworthy cake that tastes good, a nice combination of textures and flavours. Sensory joy.
Possibly the worse cake I've ever eaten, like eati
Possibly the worse cake I've ever eaten, like eating cardboard. It went straight in the bin! Tesco should be ashamed at selling this.
