Good value. Did not have to waste any outer leaves. Very pleased.
Grimy, motheaten, well worth the trouble to scrub.
Romaine lettuce is the tops, crisp, fresh, healthy, but the romaine lettuce from Martin Hammond is grimy and moth-eaten. I can only think he grows it in an old coalmine. In spite of this, I eat Romaine lettuce every day, it is so good, so good it survives the worst that Martin Hammond can do!
NOT Hearts!
Mostly dark green leaves - NOT hearts ! Wouldn't buy again.
Avoid !
With the round lettuce been yet AGAIN unavailable, and loathing the dreaded Iceberg, the choice was extremely limited. I opted for the Romaine, even though not a fan of the pre-packed lettuce. There were two in a pack and both dreadful. All the outer leaves were hard like uncooked cabbage leaves and inedible. Which only left the tiny amount of yellow leaves inside, equally unpleasant. I will certainly no be buying any pre-packed lettuce AGAIN. WHY can't Supermarkets have stock of the lovely British inexpensive and tasty fresh round Lettuce ? Instead of having a seemingly unlimited supply of the tasteless expensive pre-packed lettuce, and the ghastly Iceberg. I don not refer to salad bags.

Not at all good. Much of the lettuce seems to be inedible outer leaves so have to be discarded and wasted. Won't buy again.
