They should be sold when ripe not 2 months later!
Seville marmalade oranges are ripe on the trees in November. Tesco want us to buy them in January when they have more shelf space to sell them, because of Christmas. BUT, the quality is absolute rubbish after two months delay. The skins are hard and dried out from long storage. The sell by dates on the packs are just 3 or 4 days later so Tesco are covering their behinds by saying we are using them past the sell by date.
