Description

Stachys palustris, commonly known as marsh woundwort, is a clump-forming perennial with upright stems and lance-shaped green leaves that create a textured presence in wet meadows and along pond margins. In summer it produces spikes of small, tubular purple flowers above the foliage, adding subtle vertical interest and attracting pollinators.

This species thrives in consistently moist or shallowly wet soil and provides ecological value by supporting bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects. Its upright, clump-forming habit and tolerance of wet conditions make it ideal for pond edges, damp meadows, and naturalistic or wildlife-focused planting schemes.
